The BAM Bags Story

In 2001, BAM Bags™ was formed. BAM began with Limited Edition Leather Handbags, and then fabric totes, diaper bags and now, the Zippurse™. BAM Designs was founded by Beth A. Metsch who earned a Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Miami and a Master’s in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University. While practicing architecture, in New York City, Ms. Metsch began designing handbags for herself. Friends started asking for bags and store employees would inquire about the designer... it seemed like an opportune time to transition from buildings to bags.

When Ms. Metsch’s mother asked for a bag made out of zippers, they decided to make a competition out of it. They bought a roll of zipper, split it in half and each went home to see what they could come up with. Ms. Metsch’s completely unzippable purse was so entertaining, her mother ordered a few and so did a bunch of stores. And so the Zippurse™ was born.

The Zippurse™ immediately caught people’s attention. As soon as one sees the bag unzip, they have to have one. Each bag is constructed of one continuous zipper. There is the Ipod/Cell Phone Bag, the Wristlet/Make-up Bag, the Handbag and the Flat BottomTote. The Zippurse comes in eight different colors, black, Black & Silver, Moss green, Powder Blue, Crimson, Plum, Sand. and Walnut While they are fun, stylish, durable and washable, what you do when your Zippurse™ when it is unzipped is up to you! The Zippure™ is so unique that we have already recieved 2 patents and 2 more are still pending. The Original Zippurse™ by BAM Bags™ can be purchased online at bambags.com or at a store near you.
